Brighton Fire Callout Ends in Toasty Mishap

Viaduct Road smoke scare ends with a crispy conclusion.

Things got a bit heated on Viaduct Road, Brighton, on Monday December 16, as emergency services scrambled to reports of smoke at a property. Sussex Police buttered up the area with road closures while firefighters investigated the scene.

The culprit? A rogue slice of toast that was done and dusted.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS)told Sussex News:
“We were called on 16 December at 7.53 PM to reports of the smell of smoke at a property in Viaduct Road, Brighton. This was due to burnt toast which triggered the fire alarm. All persons were accounted for.”

Thankfully, the incident turned out to be a toastally harmless situation, with no injuries or fire—just a reminder to keep an eye on the toaster!
