The culprit? A rogue slice of toast that was done and dusted.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS)told Sussex News:
“We were called on 16 December at 7.53 PM to reports of the smell of smoke at a property in Viaduct Road, Brighton. This was due to burnt toast which triggered the fire alarm. All persons were accounted for.”

Thankfully, the incident turned out to be a toastally harmless situation, with no injuries or fire—just a reminder to keep an eye on the toaster!
