East Sussex Fire & Rescue Service responded to a fire on Kings Road in Brighton at 13:20 on Sunday (July 23rd). Firefighters from Preston Circus station used a 12m ladder, one hose reel, and one thermal imaging camera to extinguish the blaze.

Crews left the scene at 14:20, according to a statement from the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing fire crews using an electric saw to remove a section of the external part of the building around a window sill. The incident resulted in the closure of Kings Road for a period, as well as a partial obstruction of West Street.

People from within the Harbor hotel who were evacuated were seen gathered outside of the Prism nightclub.
