Brighton Main Line Delays Continue Due to Landslip Repairs

Passengers on the Brighton Main Line are experiencing significant disruption due to a landslip at Tinsley Green, between Three Bridges and Gatwick Airport. Network Rail announced that engineers have been on-site since Monday afternoon to monitor track movement and assess the situation.

Network Rail Statement

Network Rail Kent & Sussex provided an update on their official channels, stating:
“We’re sorry to customers on the Brighton Main Line who are experiencing disruption as a result of a landslip at Tinsley Green. While some lines through the affected area remain operational, a full repair of the landslip underneath the track is necessary. We are working urgently on a plan to ensure as many trains as possible can pass through safely, but delays, cancellations, and service changes will continue until further notice.”

Passengers have been urged to check for the latest train updates via Southern Rail, Gatwick Express, and Thameslink.

Engineers at Work

Network Rail has confirmed that their team is working tirelessly to develop a repair plan. A spokesperson added, “We expect to have more certainty about the repair plan, including the likely timescale, by tomorrow. We appreciate the patience of our passengers during this challenging time.”

Travel Advice

Passengers planning to travel on the Brighton Main Line are advised to:

  • Check real-time updates with @SouthernRailUK, @GatwickExpress, and @TLRailUK.
  • Allow extra time for journeys or consider alternative routes where possible.

This disruption highlights the impact of adverse conditions on railway infrastructure, and Network Rail has reiterated its commitment to resolving the issue as quickly and safely as possible.
