Maisie Trollette was an icon of the Brighton Pride parade, having participated since its inception in 1973. Revered as drag royalty, David’s performances were celebrated across the UK, with his dynamic singing voice and endearing, if occasionally cantankerous, charm captivating audiences for generations.
Born in 1933, David began his illustrious career in the 1960s, forming the duo The Trollettes alongside James Court. The pair quickly gained a following, performing at renowned venues such as The Black Cap and the Royal Vauxhall Tavern (RVT). Maisie Trollette became a staple of the LGBTQ+ cabaret scene, with packed audiences regularly gathering to see her perform at The Two Brewers, where she was a beloved fixture.
