The defendants were taken into custody on Monday and held for questioning before being charged by the Crown Prosecution Service on Thursday.

The Metropolitan Police stated that it was still too early to determine the cause of death or the baby’s gender.

A post-mortem examination is scheduled for Friday. The accused are expected to appear in Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Friday.
