Driver Arrested in Brighton After Failing to Stop for Police

Sussex Police confirm charges against 19-year-old Eren Sezen

A 19-year-old driver has been arrested in Brighton after failing to stop for police and causing a minor collision with a police vehicle.

Officers received a report of a suspected intoxicated driver at Russell Place, Brighton, at approximately 9.40pm on Wednesday, February 28. When police attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver initially failed to comply, leading to a minor collision with a police car.

The driver, identified as Eren Sezen, 19, of The Ridgeway, Croydon, was arrested shortly afterward on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, and failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis when suspected of drink driving.

Sussex Police have confirmed that Sezen has since been charged with multiple offences, including dangerous driving, failing to provide a specimen of breath for analysis, driving without valid third-party insurance, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence, and failing to stop when required by a police officer.

He is scheduled to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Monday, March 3, to face the charg
