Emergency services rushed to a residential property on Trafalgar Road, Portslade, on Thursday evening after reports of smoke coming from the roof. The incident occurred at approximately 5:30 pm, prompting a swift response from East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service.
A spokesperson for East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that crews attended the scene shortly after receiving the emergency call. Upon arrival, firefighters found the fire on the second floor of a three-storey building. As a precaution, the property was evacuated.
Firefighters worked quickly to bring the blaze under control, using four breathing apparatus, two hose reels, and one jet to extinguish the flames. Their prompt action helped prevent the fire from spreading further.
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported. However, the cause of the fire remains unknown at this stage. A full fire investigation is set to take place to determine what sparked the blaze.
