Hove Man, 20, Arrested for Alleged Upskirting of 16-Year-Old in Hangleton Road

Man Arrested in Hove on Suspicion of Upskirting and Possession of Class B Drug

Police are appealing for information following a troubling incident in Hangleton Road, where a 16-year-old girl was reportedly followed into a Co-op store by a man who then took photos of her. The incident occurred on May 22 at around 8:40 am, sparking immediate concern in the local community.

Officers responded swiftly to the scene, and a 20-year-old man from Hove was arrested nearby. He was detained on suspicion of upskirting—a serious offense involving the unauthorized taking of photographs under a person’s clothing without their consent. The suspect was also found in possession of a Class B drug at the time of his arrest.

The man has since been released on bail under strict conditions while police continue their enquiries into the incident. Authorities are taking this matter seriously and are urging anyone with information to come forward.

Members of the public who may have seen the incident or have been affected by it are encouraged to report any details to the police.

You can make a report online or by calling 101, quoting reference 276 of 22/05. All reports will be handled with the utmost confidentiality.
