Police have arrested a man in Brighton after discovering him in possession of a large quantity of drugs. Officers from the Brighton Police, Tactical Enforcement Unit, and Neighbourhood Policing Team responded to a report of a suspicious man illegally riding a scooter on Eastern Road around 11am on 29 August.
Upon being challenged by police, the suspect attempted to flee the scene but was swiftly detained on Madeira Drive. A search of the man revealed 90 individual zip bags of cannabis, with an estimated street value of £5,000.
The 24-year-old, who has no fixed address, was arrested on suspicion of driving without a licence or insurance, theft of a vehicle, and possession with intent to supply a Class B drug. He has since been released on conditional bail, and investigations remain ongoing.
