MAP: Traffic Disruptions Expected as Roads Shut Down for Brighton Marathon

If you’re planning on driving through the city today, you may want to take note of some major road closures due to the annual Brighton Marathon.

Starting from early this morning, roads along the marathon route will be closed to traffic to ensure the safety of the runners. The closures are expected to last until early afternoon, causing some disruptions to traffic flow and delays for drivers.

Some of the main roads affected by the closures include Marine Parade, Old Steine, a259 between Shoreham and Rotingdean, and Madeira Drive. In addition, access to some side streets and car parks may also be restricted during the event.

If you’re planning on travelling through the city today, it’s recommended that you avoid the affected areas if possible. If you do need to drive in the vicinity of the marathon route, be prepared for longer travel times and plan your route accordingly.

For those travelling by public transport, buses and trains are still running as usual, but some services may be diverted or delayed due to the road closures.
