Police Halt Drug Deal in Worthing, Find Cannabis and Cash in Hove Flat

Arrests Made After Vehicle Stop on Tarring Road

Police seized drugs, a substantial amount of cash, and a Rolex watch worth tens of thousands of pounds during a vehicle stop in Worthing on January 11. Officers from the Specialist Enforcement Unit (SEU) were on patrol in Tarring Road when they observed a suspected drug deal involving a Renault Twingo.

The vehicle was stopped, leading to the arrest of the driver, a 32-year-old man from Littlehampton. Meanwhile, officers detained the passenger, a 33-year-old man with no fixed address, nearby on Eton Road.

Arrests Lead to Major Search in Hove

Upon further investigation, a property in The Drive, Hove, was searched. Inside, police uncovered a large quantity of cannabis, significant cash holdings, and the luxury watch. All items were seized as evidence in the ongoing investigation.

In addition to the two men initially arrested, a 29-year-old and a 30-year-old from Hove were also taken into custody on suspicion of possessing cannabis with intent to supply. All four individuals have since been bailed pending further enquiries.

SEU Inspector Ollie Pullen commented on the operation, stating, “The initial arrests led to a flat being searched and the discovery of a large amount of drugs, cash, and the high-value Rolex watch. Our officers are actively targeting organised criminals using our roads to facilitate their offending. We are determined to disrupt the supply of drugs and other criminality which cause so much harm in our communities.”

The arrests and seizures are part of Sussex Police’s ongoing efforts to combat drug-related offences and dismantle organised crime networks in the area.
