Last night (3rd July) at approximately 11 PM, police were called to a residential property near the A270 in Brighton, close to Brighton train station. The National Police Air Service (NPAS), rescue workers, and members of the fire brigade were all present at the scene.

Officers blocked the A270 for around an hour while dealing with the incident. Armed officers were seen carrying baton rifles, a less lethal weapon that fire ‘rubber bullets’, and bulletproof shields.

A witness told Sussex News that they had seen around 10 police vehicles at the scene and clammed that someone had been assaulted during the incident. Sussex Police and East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) were both present. NPAS was seen circling Brighton during the time of the incident.

Sussex Police and ESFRS have been approached for comment on this incident.
