On Wednesday evening, the Shoreham all-weather lifeboat was kept busy responding to a distress call from a stranded yacht attempting to enter Brighton Marina amidst a force 6 wind, perilously close to being swept onto the marina wall.
The crew located the vessel, which had two occupants, drifting 3.5 miles southward, unable to lower their sails.

While towing the first yacht to safety within Brighton Marina, a second distress call regarding another troubled yacht off the coast of Brighton was received. Once the initial vessel was secure, the crew swiftly returned to sea to assist the second yacht, which had experienced engine failure.
This yacht, also carrying two individuals, had encountered difficulties in lowering its sails due to the strong winds. The lifeboat successfully towed it into Brighton Marina.
