Sussex Police Officer Resigns After Being Charged with Child Image Offences

The alleged offences occurred between June and October 2024.

A former Sussex Police officer has been charged with three offences related to indecent images of a child following an investigation.

George Voisey, 23, was arrested on October 24 last year and has now been charged with one count of distributing an indecent image of a child and two counts of making indecent images of a child. The offences are alleged to have occurred between June 22 and October 24, 2024.

At the time of the alleged offences, Voisey was not on duty. Following his arrest, he was suspended from duty and subsequently resigned from Sussex Police on March 1, 2025.

He is scheduled to appear before Brighton Magistrates’ Court on March 27, 2025.

A spokesperson for Sussex Police confirmed that the matter had been referred to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which directed the force’s Professional Standards Department to conduct a local investigation.

“The force will consider misconduct proceedings once the criminal proceedings have concluded,” the spokesperson added.

The case remains under investigation, and Sussex Police have reiterated their commitment to maintaining the highest standards of conduct within the force.
