Two Arrested After Stolen Car Abandoned in Woodingdean

Teenagers Detained Following Dangerous Driving Incident

Sussex Police responded to reports of a suspected stolen vehicle on Falmer Road, Woodingdean, in the early hours of January 2.

The vehicle, a blue Ford Fiesta, was abandoned after a brief pursuit. Officers quickly secured the scene and initiated a search for suspects in the area.

Subsequently, two individuals from Brighton were arrested nearby.

  • A 19-year-old man was taken into custody on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle.
  • A 17-year-old boy was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop, and theft of a motor vehicle.

Both suspects have been released on bail while investigations continue.

Police are appealing for any information that could assist their enquiries. Members of the public who may have CCTV or dashcam footage of the vehicle in the area at the time are urged to contact Sussex Police online, quoting serial 30 on 02/01.
