Police in Brighton are investigating a reported theft from a vehicle that occurred on Kensington Street at approximately 1:30 pm on January 17.
The incident took place after the victim had attended a premises on nearby Gloucester Road. It is believed that a male suspect placed a nail or other device to puncture the tyre of the victim’s silver Vauxhall Insignia, while a female suspect distracted the victim.
A black bag containing jewellery, diamonds, gold, and a substantial amount of cash was stolen from inside the vehicle.
Officers have launched an investigation and have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak with in connection with the theft.
Chief Inspector Ed Ripley stated: “We are appealing for witnesses and information about this theft and understand the impact it has had on the victim.
“The incident happened during a busy lunchtime in the North Laine area. We are keen to speak with anyone who saw anything suspicious and anyone with relevant CCTV, doorbell, mobile phone, or dashcam footage from the area at the time.”
