A fire has broken out at Dos Amigos, a popular Mexican restaurant located on Portland Road in Hove. It is understood that the blaze began in the kitchen, prompting an immediate emergency response.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) confirmed they were called to the scene at 13:45. In a statement, they said: “At 13:45 we were called to attend a fire on Portland Road, #Hove. Six fire engines are on scene. Please avoid the area whilst we work hard to tackle the blaze.”
Sussex Police are also in attendance, assisting with traffic management and public safety as firefighters work to contain the situation.
No details have yet been released about the extent of the damage or whether there are any injuries. Members of the public are urged to stay clear of the area to allow emergency crews to work efficiently.
