Man Arrested After XL Bully Attack and Assault on Police Officers in Peacehaven

In a troubling incident in Peacehaven, a 29-year-old man has been arrested for multiple charges, including assaulting three police officers and allowing his XL bully dog to run loose. The arrest follows reports of a dog-on-dog altercation involving two XL bullies near Links Avenue, which resulted in injuries to a dog walker and his pet.

The situation unfolded around 10:45 a.m. when residents reported two dogs, believed to be XL bullies, fighting in a public area. One of the XL bullies, along with a border collie cross, had reportedly escaped from a nearby vehicle and attacked another XL bully that was being walked on a lead by its owner. During the encounter, the dog walker sustained cuts to his hands while trying to separate the animals, and his XL bully suffered minor injuries. Fortunately, neither the man nor his dog required medical treatment.

Responding officers quickly seized the loose XL bully and arrested its owner on charges of having dogs dangerously out of control. However, as the suspect was being transported to custody, he allegedly became combative, assaulting three officers and damaging a police vehicle. The man now faces additional charges of assault on police officers and criminal damage.
