75-Year-Old Pedestrian Dies in Road Accident on A21 in Flimwell

Sussex Police has announced the unfortunate passing of a pedestrian involved in an accident in Flimwell. The collision took place between 5.30pm and 5.50pm on Thursday 16th November, at the junction of A21 London Road and A268 Hawkhurst Road.

The pedestrian, a 75-year-old local man, was declared deceased at the scene. His family has been notified.

A 57-year-old man from Rye, driving the HGV involved, has been detained on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is currently released under investigation while enquiries proceed.

Following the incident, a section of the road was temporarily closed for forensic examination.
