Appeal for witnesses following Eastbourne hit-and-run

Police are calling for anyone who may have witnessed a hit-and-run incident in Eastbourne on the evening of 26 July to come forward.

An individual was crossing the street at a zebra crossing on Upperton Road, near the intersection with Ocklynge Road, at approximately 7:50pm. A dark-colored vehicle hit the pedestrian and then fled the scene.

Emergency services, including the police and ambulance, attended the scene, and the pedestrian is currently receiving treatment for serious injuries.

A portion of Upperton Road was closed whist police carried out investigation works.

If anyone saw the collision, has footage of the incident from a dash cam or CCTV, or has noticed a dark-colored vehicle with apparent damage being driven around the area, they are strongly encouraged to share this information.
