Breaking: Firefighters battle blaze on Upperton Road, Eastbourne

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service (ESFRS) received a 999 call at 00:21 reporting a fire on Upperton Road, Eastbourne. Responding to the situation, six fire appliances were deployed to the scene. Authorities have urged the public to avoid the area for safety reasons, while residents in the vicinity are advised to keep windows and doors closed.

In an update provided bt ESFRS at 00:59, two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the building to combat the fire, equipped with a Hose Reel Jet.

Further developments reveal that as of 01:40, the local police and ambulance services have also arrived at the scene.

As the situation continues to unfold, ESFRS and other emergency services are working to bring the incident under control.

At 02:14 ESFRS updated saying “The fire is now out. Crews remain on scene ventilating.”
