Nestled on Beach Road in Newhaven, LINS Café has made a fresh start after relocating from the Westside beach, now undergoing development. Conveniently positioned next to Enterprise Car Hire, the café offers plenty of free off-road parking, making it an easy stop for locals and travelers alike.
Upon arrival, I was warmly greeted by Lin herself and settled in at a cozy table. Although I arrived later in the day, I was pleased to find the full menu still available. I decided to try the large breakfast, priced at £10, which includes tea or coffee, with the option to upgrade to a specialty coffee. The breakfast was prepared by Scott, a friendly chef who made the experience even more welcoming.
The breakfast came beautifully presented on a large rectangular plate, offering a generous spread: two rashers of bacon, two eggs, tinned tomatoes, mushrooms, two hash browns, and beans, with a choice of toast or fried bread. For those with a smaller appetite, there’s a half-size option available too.
The food was impressive—eggs cooked to perfection, with beans and tomatoes as expected, and the bacon was well-cooked and flavorful. The hash browns were crispy, and the sausages were notably better than what you find at many other places. I opted for the fried bread, which is often a make-or-break element for me, and it did not disappoint—it was perfectly fried, just the way I like it.
I’ll definitely be back, and next time, I’ll try one of their burgers, which I heard great things about from another customer. The prices are reasonable for the location and the quality of the café. The place was spotless, and the staff’s friendliness made for a delightful experience. I’ll be making LINS Café a regular stop in Newhaven!
