Person Pulled from Water by Lifeboat in Eastbourne Rescue Mission

This afternoon, at approximately 1:25 pm, coastguards were alerted to a person in the water off the coast of Eastbourne, East Sussex. The Eastbourne Inshore Lifeboat was promptly paged and launched, along with a coastguard helicopter from Lydd and local coastguard teams.

The lifeboat successfully located the individual and retrieved them from the water, bringing them safely ashore to waiting paramedics, coastguards, and police officers. A skilled paramedic from the coastguard helicopter was winched down onto the beach to assist with the medical emergency.

A Sussex Police spokesperson stated: “Police were called following concerns for a man in the sea off the coast of Eastbourne at around 2:10 pm on Tuesday, 22nd October. Emergency services remain at the scene, and we have no further information at this time.”

The condition of the individual is currently unknown as emergency responders continue their efforts at the scene. Further updates will follow as more information becomes available.
