Police Investigating Deadly Collision on A27 Near Pevensey

Police Urge Witnesses to Come Forward After Fatal A27 Collision

Police are urgently appealing for witnesses after a fatal collision near Pevensey this morning, which claimed the life of a 54-year-old motorcyclist from Hastings.

The tragic incident occurred around 6:20 AM on the A27, involving a motorbike and a car. Despite the efforts of emergency services, the motorcyclist was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin has been informed.

The collision has led to the closure of the A27 in both directions, with the road expected to remain closed until mid-afternoon as officers conduct a thorough investigation. Drivers are being urged to avoid the area and seek alternative routes.

Police are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding the collision and are specifically appealing for information from the driver of a light-colored vehicle that was traveling east on the A27 near Stone Cross at the time of the incident.

Anyone who witnessed the collision or who has any information or dashcam footage that could assist in the investigation is asked to contact Sussex Police by emailing collision.appeal@sussex.police.uk, quoting Operation Mere.
