Police are urgently investigating a distressing incident involving a woman who had her handbag, containing an irreplaceable and sentimental item, snatched by two men in Seaford.
The victim, a woman in her 30s, was walking alone near the beach huts at the junction with Connaught Road around 10.15pm on Saturday, June 22, when the shocking event occurred. The handbag, which was draped over her shoulder, held a ring containing the ashes of her late son, making the loss particularly devastating.
According to the police report, the woman was approached from behind by two men on bicycles. Without warning, they snatched the handbag from her shoulder, causing an injury before quickly cycling east towards Newhaven.
The suspects are described as two white males, approximately 18 years of age, wearing dark hoodies and tracksuits. Authorities are appealing to the public for assistance in identifying the perpetrators.
