Six-Year-Old Boy Injured in Hastings E-Scooter Collision

Police call for witnesses after six-year-old injured in Hastings e-scooter incident.

Sussex Police are appealing for witnesses after a six-year-old boy was injured in a collision with an e-scooter near the Priory Meadow shopping centre in Hastings. The incident occurred on Tuesday, October 29, around 4:19 pm, as the 40-year-old e-scooter rider traveled eastbound along the pavement.

The young pedestrian sustained minor injuries and was treated at the scene. Following the collision, the e-scooter rider was reported for driving without insurance and for driving without due care and attention. Police have seized the e-scooter as part of the investigation.

Authorities are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or captured it on camera to come forward, either by reporting it online or by calling 101, referencing crime number 47240211356.

Police have also issued a reminder that riding e-scooters on roads or in public spaces is illegal. Offenders may face a fixed penalty notice and potential points on their driver’s license.
