A teenager has been apprehended under suspicion of drug-related and driving offenses in Hastings.
Undercover police officers were conducting patrols in the town on Monday, September 18th, when they observed what appeared to be a drug transaction occurring in a passageway situated between Bethune Way and Waterworks Road.
One of the individuals involved was riding an electric bicycle, which had earlier been witnessed speeding, weaving through traffic, and performing wheelies.
The plainclothes officers requested uniformed police assistance. They intercepted a 16-year-old boy on Queens Road and, following a search, confiscated two mobile phones, approximately 10 packages of Class A drugs, and a sum of cash. Additionally, an electric bicycle was seized.
The teenager was taken into custody on suspicion of possessing Class A drugs with the intent to distribute, operating a motor vehicle without a valid license, and using a motor vehicle on a public road without insurance. He has been released on bail pending further investigations.
