Update: Four call outs for Eastbourne Lifeboat last week

Eastbourne RNLI was paged on Wednesday 22nd February at 09.00 hrs and requested to launch the Inshore Lifeboat to assist Local Coastguards with a search for a person reported missing.

After a thorough search of the area with nothing found our Inshore Lifeboat was stood down and returned to the station.

The Volunteer Crew was paged again Wednesday 22nd February at 19.13 hrs.

They were requested to launch the Inshore Lifeboat and tasked to assist Police, Local Coastguards and Coastguard Rescue Helicopter with an incident East of Belle Tout Lighthouse.

There will be no further details due to the sensitive nature of the call.

On Thursday 23rd February the Volunteer Crew was paged at 10.20 hrs and requested to launch the Inshore Lifeboat.

They were tasked to assist Local Coastguards and Coastguard Rescue Helicopter to conduct a shoreline search.

With a thorough search of the area and with nothing found all assets were stood down.

Paged again on Friday 24th February at 11.00 hrs.

They were requested to launch the Inshore Lifeboat and tasked to report of a person who had entered the sea.

Once on scene the casualty was found to be safe and in the care of the Police.
