Woman Arrested on Suspicion of Murder After Bexhill Stabbing

Police Confirm Victim’s Death Despite Emergency Response Efforts

Police have launched a murder investigation following the fatal stabbing of a woman at a property in Bayencourt South, Bexhill. A 39-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder, while a 32-year-old man has been detained for allegedly assisting an offender.

Emergency services were called to the scene just after 10 p.m. on Wednesday, February 12, responding to reports of a woman who had been stabbed. Despite immediate efforts from police and paramedics, the 58-year-old victim succumbed to her injuries at the scene.

Authorities have since informed the victim’s next of kin, who are currently receiving support from specialist officers.

Police Continue Investigations Following Fatal Bexhill Stabbing


Following an extensive search, officers arrested a 39-year-old woman from Bexhill on suspicion of murder. Additionally, a 32-year-old man from the area was taken into custody on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both individuals remain in custody as investigations continue.

Detective Chief Inspector Campbell, leading the investigation, expressed condolences to the victim’s loved ones, stating:

“Our thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends following this tragic incident, and the family ask that they are given privacy at this time.

“We are in the early stages of a fast-moving investigation, but it is currently believed this matter involved people known to each other.”

The Detective Chief Inspector also reassured residents, acknowledging the concerns within the community and confirming an increased police presence in the area in the coming days.
