Woman Confronts Pedestrian, Gets Knocked to Ground in St Leonards

Suspect described as tall man with dark facial hair, last seen heading towards Harley Shute

Sussex Police are seeking witnesses to an assault that took place in the early hours of Sunday, November 10, on Bexhill Road, St Leonards. The incident occurred around 2:15 a.m. on a stretch of the main road between Bulverhythe Road and Amsterdam Way, involving an altercation between a female driver and a male pedestrian.

According to the report, the incident began when a man allegedly threw an object at the woman’s dark-colored vehicle as she was driving along Bexhill Road. In response, the woman stopped and got out of her car to confront the individual. A confrontation ensued, during which the suspect reportedly punched her, knocking her to the ground and causing facial injuries.

Following the assault, the suspect fled on foot toward the Harley Shute traffic lights. Sussex Police describe him as approximately 6 feet tall, with dark facial hair, carrying a black rucksack, and wearing a black puffer jacket. The authorities are urging anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have captured relevant footage on dash cams, doorbell cameras, or CCTV, to come forward.

Sussex Police emphasise that any information or footage could be crucial in identifying the suspect and understanding the sequence of events leading up to the assault. They are encouraging anyone who may have seen the incident or has relevant footage to report it online or contact the police by calling 101, quoting serial number 123 of 10/11
