Man Arrested After Reported Stabbing in Brighton

Police confirm multiple crime scenes in place as investigation continues

A man has been arrested following reports of a stabbing in Brighton on Tuesday morning (2 July), with multiple crime scenes currently cordoned off in the area.

Sussex Police said they were called shortly before 9.30am to reports of a man seen with a knife in Marine Parade. Officers quickly attended the scene and arrested a man nearby.

A photo shared with Sussex News shows officers detaining a man on Madeira Drive, just moments after the initial report.

In a statement, Sussex Police said:

“Police received a report of a man with a knife in Marine Parade, Brighton, shortly before 9.30am on July 2.
Officers attended and a man was arrested and taken into police custody.
We are aware of a report of a stabbing nearby, and a man has been taken to hospital. The incident is being treated as linked.”

The condition of the victim has not yet been confirmed.

Police remain at the scene, and several cordons are in place while investigations continue.
