Appeal for any locals to help fix Age UK shop in Brighton that was Broken into and had Safe ransacked

Local Charity Shop Robbed and Ransacked

Age UK Kemptown Charity Shop was broken into over the weekend and the safe completely ransacked. This is yet another real blow to the charity, as this is the second of their shops to be broken into in a matter of months.

Steve Hare, Chief Executive of Age UK East Sussex said, “This has been very upsetting to everyone here at the charity, especially as we rely heavily on the income from our shops to keep our services running. This is a huge loss at a time when we are all trying very hard to continue providing services for our older community locally, and the income from our charity shops helps us to provide funding for those services. I would like to say thank you to all the staff and volunteers who are helping to clean up the mess as quickly as possible, so we can open the shop to the public again.”

Age UK East Sussex really doesn’t want to divert money away from the charity yet again to fix the damage and so, They are putting out an urgent plea to the public to help us if they can, with raising the funds to cover the costs of repair, loss of business and what was stolen by this terrible burglary of our charity shop. If you are able to help in any way, please visit bit.ly/3J2Q5Uy any support would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
