Donkey-napped no more! Moon found and reunited with delighted owners

Moon, a 12-week-old baby donkey, has been joyfully reunited with her owners after being snatched from Millers Ark Animals, a farm located in Hook. Following an extensive investigation led by Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, the adorable donkey was recovered at an address on White House Lane in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, late last night.

The theft occurred sometime before 5 pm on Monday, 15th May, leaving the farm devastated and desperate to find their beloved Moon. Thankfully, the farm received a crucial tip that led them to contact the police, who wasted no time in mobilizing their forces. Officers from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary’s Countrywatch team joined hands with Thames Valley Police’s Rural Task Force team to crack the case.

After arriving at the identified address around 8:15 pm, authorities successfully located the stolen donkey and safely returned her to the overwhelmed and overjoyed owners. Police Sergeant Stuart Ross, from Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary’s Countrywatch team, expressed his elation at the positive outcome, praising the collaborative efforts of both police forces involved.

The public played a significant role in this heartwarming reunion, with countless individuals responding to appeals for information. The public’s cooperation, including sharing sightings and providing valuable leads, proved instrumental in the successful recovery of Moon. Sergeant Ross extended his gratitude to everyone who contributed to the efforts and emphasized the relentless determination exhibited by law enforcement in locating the stolen donkey.

While the immediate focus has been on reuniting Moon with her owners, Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary’s Countrywatch team will continue their investigation into the circumstances surrounding the theft. The authorities urge anyone with information related to the incident to come forward by calling 101, quoting reference number 44230191581.

Pamela Jessopp, a spokesperson for Millers Ark Animals, expressed their overwhelming excitement and gratitude for Moon’s safe return. Their hopes had wavered as time passed, but the support of the public and the power of social media ultimately played a crucial role in finding the missing donkey. Jessopp extended heartfelt appreciation to Hampshire and Isle of Wight Constabulary, Surrey Police, and Thames Valley Police for their unwavering support, swift action, and diligent investigation.
