15-Year-Old Charged with Attempted Murder in Worthing

Victims Recover in Hospital After Worthing Incident

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with two counts of attempted murder following a serious incident in Worthing.

Emergency services were called to an address on Rowlands Road in the early hours of Monday, January 13, after reports of a man and a woman in their 40s suffering serious injuries. Both victims were transported to the hospital, where they remain in critical condition.

The teenager, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, was taken into custody and later charged. He is scheduled to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, January 14.

Detective Chief Inspector Kelly Lewis, who is leading the investigation, described the situation as “traumatic.” She stated, “Our thoughts are with the two victims. The boy is known to the victims, and we are not seeking anyone else in relation to this incident.”

The Rowlands Road area has seen an increased police presence as officers continue their enquiries. DCI Lewis expressed gratitude to the local community, saying, “I’d like to thank residents and the wider community for their patience and understanding during this time.”

Authorities are appealing to the public for any information related to the case. Witnesses or individuals with relevant details are encouraged to report online or call 101, quoting Operation Bransford.
