This year’s rally, organized by the Royal Automobile Club, maintained its legacy as the world’s oldest continuous motoring event, dating back to 1896. Participants came from all over the globe, eager to test their pre-1905 vehicles on this unique endurance course. Notable entries included a steam-powered 1901 Toledo and a 1903 De Dion Bouton, both drawing enthusiastic applause along the route. Despite the autumn chill, drivers and their passengers dressed in period costumes, adding to the event’s historical charm.

The London to Brighton Veteran Car Run is more than a race; it’s a journey through time. Spectators gathered at key points like Westminster Bridge, Crawley, and Preston Park in Brighton to catch a glimpse of these motoring relics. The event brings a significant economic boost to local areas, with hotels and cafes welcoming the influx of visitors.

For many, the highlight was the sight of veteran cars crossing the finish line at Brighton’s Madeira Drive, an iconic moment of nostalgia and achievement. Completing the course is a challenge, given the vintage cars’ limited speeds and mechanical quirks. The London to Brighton Veteran Car Run 2024 also received live coverage, allowing those who couldn’t attend to follow the action online.
