Teen Sexually Assaulted on Train Near West Worthing – Police Release CCTV of Suspect

British Transport Police are appealing for information after a teenage boy was sexually assaulted on a morning train from Worthing to Durrington-on-Sea.

Detectives from British Transport Police (BTP) have released a CCTV image of a man they wish to speak with following a sexual assault on a teenage boy travelling on a train in West Sussex.

The incident took place on Friday 7 March, during the 7:54am service from Worthing to Durrington-on-Sea.

According to officers, the man boarded the train at West Worthing station and sat opposite the teenage victim before sexually assaulting him during the journey.

Police believe the man shown in the CCTV still may hold critical information that could assist with their investigation.

A BTP spokesperson stated:

“We take all reports of sexual offences seriously. We are asking anyone who recognises the man in the image to come forward as a matter of urgency.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact British Transport Police by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 358 of 7 March.

Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
