82-Year-Old Man Killed in Accident Outside Custom Café, Bexhill

Police Investigate Fatal Collision on A259 Barnhorn Road

An 82-year-old man has tragically lost his life following a collision with a car on the A259 Barnhorn Road, Bexhill, on the evening of Saturday, 23 November. The incident occurred near the Custom Café at approximately 8:20pm.

Details of the Collision

Emergency services were called to the scene where the pedestrian, a local resident, was found critically injured. Sadly, he was pronounced deceased at the scene despite efforts to save him. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers during this difficult time.

The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation, and authorities are working to determine the cause. No further details about the driver or vehicle involved have been released at this stage.

Appeal for Witnesses

Sussex Police have launched Operation Alva to investigate the incident and are appealing to the public for assistance. Officers are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed the collision or events leading up to it.

In addition to eyewitness accounts, police are requesting any dash cam, mobile phone, or CCTV footage that may shed light on the incident.
