Upon receiving the call, first responders, including police officers, paramedics, and fire brigade teams, rushed to the scene. The severity of the collision was such that fire crews had to employ specialised cutting equipment to rescue several individuals who were trapped inside their vehicles.

Early reports from the scene suggest that, fortunately, the injuries sustained by those involved are not life-threatening.
