Appeal After Man Spits at Baby in Broadfield, Crawley

Police are appealing for witnesses following a deeply concerning incident in Crawley involving a 7-week-old baby.

At approximately 11:20am on Sunday, March 23, a man was walking through the Broadfield 3G Stadium car park while pushing his baby in a pushchair. It has been reported that another man approached and spat in the direction of the infant.

Thankfully, the spit did not make contact with the baby. However, the incident has raised alarm and prompted an investigation by Sussex Police.

A spokesperson said: “We are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who has any information that could assist with our enquiries.”

Anyone who saw what happened or who may have dashcam or mobile phone footage from the area at the time is urged to contact Sussex Police either by calling 101 or reporting online, quoting serial 455 of 23/03.
