Arrests Made Following Threats to Steal Motorcycle in Hailsham

Police have arrested two additional suspects in connection with a series of motorcycle thefts in East Sussex, following a report of threats to steal a motorcycle in Hailsham on Wednesday, August 28.

Officers from the Specialist Enforcement Unit (SEU) responded swiftly to the incident, and after a brief pursuit, two suspects were identified. Both men resisted arrest, with one officer being struck in the face during the altercation.

A 23-year-old man was subsequently found and arrested on suspicion of multiple offenses, including theft of a motor vehicle, arson, escaping lawful custody, and assaulting an emergency worker. The following day, on Thursday, August 29, an 18-year-old man was also located and arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle. Both suspects remain in custody as investigations continue.
