Brighton Crash: Cyclist Flees After Hitting 76-Year-Old Woman

Sussex Police are calling for witnesses following a serious collision between a cyclist and a pedestrian in Brighton. The incident occurred on Saturday, 31 August, at around 5pm on North Road, near the junction with Kensington Gardens.

The pedestrian, a 76-year-old woman from Brighton, was crossing the road when she was hit by a man riding a bicycle. The woman fell to the ground, suffering serious injuries. She was quickly transported to the hospital, where she received treatment and has since been discharged. However, further treatment is expected.

The cyclist left the scene without providing any details, prompting an immediate investigation. Sussex Police have conducted several enquiries but are now appealing to the public for help.

Police have released an image of a man they believe may hold key information related to the incident. Officers are keen to speak to him as part of their ongoing investigation.

Witness Appeal Anyone who witnessed the collision or has any CCTV or dashcam footage of the event is urged to come forward. Additionally, anyone who recognises the person in the image should contact Sussex Police.
