Brighton Man Charged with Rape to Appear in Court

Jaden Standing accused of attacking woman in Sussex in July 2024

A man from Brighton is due to appear in court charged with the rape of a woman in Sussex.

Jaden Standing, 23, formerly of Bamford Close in Brighton, has been charged with one count of rape following an investigation into an alleged incident that took place in July 2024.

Police received a report from a woman who alleged she had been raped. She is receiving ongoing support from specially trained officers, and her identity is protected for legal reasons.

Standing was arrested at an address in Brighton in September 2024 as part of the investigation.

He was formally charged and appeared at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on 2 June. He is scheduled to reappear at the same court on 16 June to answer the charge.

Sussex Police have confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing.
