Call for Witnesses After Severe A27 Accident Near Arundel

Sussex Roads Policing Unit are seeking public assistance in gathering information regarding a major traffic accident that occurred on the A27 near Arundel. The incident was reported to the police around 3 p.m. on Sunday, December 17.

The crash happened on the eastbound side of the Arundel bypass, shortly after the intersection with Fitzallan Road. It involved a collision between a dark grey Peugeot and a silver Mercedes convertible.

A 53-year-old woman from the Petersfield area in Hampshire, who was a passenger in the Peugeot, suffered severe injuries. She was promptly taken to the hospital, where she is currently receiving treatment.

Also involved in the accident were the drivers of both vehicles: a 62-year-old man from Petersfield, driving the Peugeot, and a 58-year-old woman from Fontwell, who was behind the wheel of the Mercedes. The police are now appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision or has any pertinent information to come forward.
