Cash-Filled Suitcase Stolen on Commuter Train

British Transport Police are seeking help to identify a woman in connection with a stolen suitcase containing cash on a train from Three Bridges to St Pancras.

British Transport Police (BTP) have released a CCTV image of a woman they wish to speak to following the theft of a suitcase on board a Thameslink train travelling from Sussex to London.

The incident occurred on Monday, 3 February. At approximately 7am, the victim boarded the Thameslink service at Three Bridges railway station, bringing on board a suitcase that contained a significant amount of cash.

According to police, around 9:30am, a woman picked up the suitcase and disembarked the train at St Pancras station in London.

Investigators are now appealing to the public to help identify the woman captured in the CCTV image. Officers believe she may have vital information that could assist with ongoing enquiries.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said:

“If you recognise the woman in the image or have any information about the incident, please get in touch. Any detail, no matter how small, could be crucial.”

Anyone with information is urged to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 428 of 8 February.

Alternatively, information can be provided anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
