On Sunday 28th April 2024, Charles Street Tap hosted their weekly power of three cabaret night. A heartwarming tribute by Marsha Mallow at the end of the show for their dear friend Jason Sutton aka Miss Jason who recently died.
Miss Jason’s death shocked the LGBTQ+ community, which has lost one of the most loved acts to grace the stages, TV screens, and of course, doggy pride.
During the tribute, many other cabaret artists gathered on the stage, along with an empty chair with a glass of Aperol Spritz.
Marsha Mellow said on Tuesday “When I heard the news I was in London, so I wasn’t with my friends and chosen family and I felt so lost. But it did give me a chance to sit and think what could I do to say thank you for all of the years he has been my number one. I felt this song was the most fitting as a tribute to Miss Jason who has always been an advocate for new acts in the LGBTQ+ scene.”
- Sharon Barr told Sussex News, that upon hearing the sad news, she will never forget him and her thoughts are with his beloved partner Terry, and his Chihuahua, Chester whom he loved so dearly. She continued that Jason Sutton (Miss Jason) was the most funny and truly one-of-a-kind person. He made audiences laugh on stage and off it he was just as funny. Jason had the kindest heart and he raised thousands for charity. During my time at The Zone, over the years Jason lit up the stage there many times. There will never be another.
