Critical condition: 17-year-old hospitalized after Warnham stabbing

Sussex Police are seeking witnesses and information following a stabbing incident in Warnham near Horsham. Emergency services rushed to Marches Road early on Sunday, July 23, in response to the alarming incident.

A 16-year-old boy has been taken into custody on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with the incident. Meanwhile, a 17-year-old boy remains in critical condition and is receiving medical treatment at a hospital.

Chief Superintendent Jo Banks has called upon the public to come forward with any relevant information. The address where the incident occurred had several young people present, and their accounts are crucial to advancing the investigation. Parents and guardians of those who were at the scene are also encouraged to speak with their children and provide any relevant details to the authorities.

This investigation is fast-moving and presents complexities, prompting officers to collaborate with local schools to gather pertinent information. Additionally, an increased police presence in the area will offer reassurance to the community.

Police emphasize that this was an isolated incident and there is no broader threat to the safety of the public. Anyone with information related to the case is urged to contact Sussex Police on 01273 470101 or submit information online, quoting “Operation Ketley.”
