Cyclist Suffers Life-Threatening Injuries in Hit-and-Run Incident

Sussex Police Request Dashcam and CCTV Footage From Witnesses

Police are appealing for witnesses and information following a serious hit-and-run collision in Brighton that left a cyclist with life-threatening injuries.

At around 2:25 PM on Monday, March 18, officers were called to The Avenue following reports of a collision involving a moped and a cyclist. The moped was travelling north when it struck the cyclist, a 66-year-old man, before fleeing the scene without stopping.

Emergency services attended the scene, and the injured cyclist was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. Police are now urgently seeking to identify and locate the driver of the moped.

Officers are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision, seen the moped in the area, or has relevant footage to come forward. This includes CCTV, doorbell, or dashcam recordings that could assist in the investigation.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Sussex Police online or by calling 101, quoting serial 814 of 18/03.
