Eastbourne Home Robbed of High-Value Jewellery

Police in Eastbourne are seeking the public’s assistance in a burglary investigation by releasing images of the missing high-value jewellery items.

The incident was reported on March 15 when valuable items, estimated to be worth tens of thousands of pounds, were discovered missing from a residence on Staveley Road.

Preliminary findings suggest that the items may have been taken the previous day, Tuesday, March 14.

Among the reported missing items are a 12-point star emerald and diamond brooch, an eight-point sapphire and diamond brooch, gold rings adorned with sapphires, emeralds, and diamonds, two pairs of earrings featuring pearls, diamonds, and sapphires, two watches, an engagement ring, and a signet ring.

Local police have been diligently investigating the burglary, conducting house-to-house inquiries and analyzing CCTV footage to gather information.

In an effort to aid the investigation, images of some of the stolen jewellery items are being released to the public.

Detective Sergeant Jason Hoadley emphasized the importance of reuniting these precious items with their rightful owner. He stated, “The items are worth tens of thousands of pounds, but to the owner, these items were priceless and irreplaceable. They included her engagement ring, and some of the most-treasured items belonged to her late husband, including his signet ring. For a thief to have taken these highly personal items is deplorable.”

Authorities are urging anyone who may have come across the stolen items for sale or online, or anyone who witnessed suspicious activity on Staveley Road on March 14, to come forward with any relevant information.

Reports can be made to Sussex Police online or by calling 101, quoting serial number 238 of 15/03/2023.

Alternatively, anonymous reports can be made to CrimeStoppers at 0800 555 111, quoting the same serial number mentioned above.
