Elderly walker rescued from 30-foot cliff fall

Sunday morning, the Birling Gap and Eastbourne coastguard teams were summoned to aid an elderly walker who had unfortunately fallen a significant 30 feet down the cliffs near Sugar Loaf Cliff, adjacent to Holywell.

In collaboration with the Fire, Police, and Ambulance services, Coastguard teams executed a meticulous technical rescue operation. A skilled rescue technician was dispatched to the scene, where they expertly facilitated the safe retrieval of the casualty, bringing them back to the cliff top.

Upon reaching safety, the individual was transferred to the awaiting ambulance service, ensuring they received immediate medical attention for their injuries.

Remember, in the event of a coastal emergency, do not hesitate to dial 999 and request assistance from the Coastguard 🚨. Your safety is our priority.
